Are you on an Upward or Downward health spiral?
We tend to take our health for granted until something goes wrong. If suddenly we can’t move because our back is in painful spasm we act fast to get help to fix it and to prevent the pain from coming back.
When it comes to your internal health the warning signs are often very subtle and can often be ignored for years. This is attributed to internal health issues such as obesity, diabetes, arthritis, heart disease, lung cancer, hypertension and impotence not just happening overnight. Often we don’t try to fix the cause of these problems until it becomes a major problem.
The way to self assess for these issues is to simply ask yourself, “what can’t I do now, that I once could?” It might be, climb a flight of stairs without getting puffed, or as simple as touch your toes. What about running around with your children or grandchildren, fitting into your favourite clothes, playing your favourite sport, having lots of energy, or not feeling tired or stressed all the time.
This list is your “loss of life quality” list. Young people and healthy old people tend to struggle to make a list whereas sick people, people with disease and dysfunction, tend to have long lists.
If you have a longer list than you would like maybe we can help.
Most busy people believe their health is important but, because it’s not urgent, it goes on the “should do list”. Yes, the same list they haven’t got to in months, or is that years?
Maybe you think you are in pretty good shape and while you know you could do more, compared to most people, you still think you’re doing okay.
Stop and consider this for one moment. We live in a society where 90% of the population have at least one formidable risk of heart disease, and atherosclerosis is being detected in children as young as three years old.
Most middle aged people in our society leave their health to chance and because of this, will spend 20 years suffering declining life quality due to preventable lifestyle diseases such as obesity, diabetes, arthritis, osteoporosis, heart disease and painful physical disabilities, while others will die too young from either stroke, cancer, or heart attack.
It does not need to be this way. Most of this disease is preventable and in many cases reversible. Tyack Health provides three excellent preventative health programs for individuals and now also offers a wide range of options for businesses through their Corporate health programs. These programs help individuals get their health back on track.
