PHONING THE DOCTOR
If you feel it is urgent to speak to the doctor, please explain the situation to the receptionist, and you will be put through to the nurse on duty to assess. If doctors are unable to take your call immediately, they will return your call as soon as practical.
If you require a specialist referral, you will need to see your doctor. Please give details to the receptionist.
We require you to phone to check your test results. Pathology results are usually available three days after your tests have been performed. Pap Smear results can take up to 4-6 weeks for results. If your results require follow-up, you will be notified by the practice. If however, you would like to call for your results, we ask that you do so between 1-2pm weekdays.
Note: While we make every effort to contact you if your results are abnormal, this is sometimes difficult if people move, change phone numbers or are away from home for extended periods.
On occasion, you may have forgotten to ask for a script during your visit. If the doctor does not need to see you again, please allow 24 hours for your script preparation.
A fee of $5.00-$10.00 is charged for prescriptions without seeing the doctor. Should you need this faxed or posted, an additional $2 charge applies for this service, payable prior to your next appointment.
